Today, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted an Express Entry draw, extending a total of 1,307 invitations for provincial nomination through the Skilled Trades Stream.
In this round of invitations, all Express Entry profiles with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 405 and 435, along with experience in one of the 47 designated skilled trade occupations, were selected.
Additionally, this OINP draw took into account all active Express Entry profiles created between October 17, 2023, and October 17, 2024, that met the specified criteria.
The CRS score range has tightened compared to the last OINP Skilled Trades Stream draw. The lower threshold increased by 5 points, rising from 400 to 405, while the upper threshold remains unchanged at 435.
In the latest federal Express Entry draw for 10 trade occupations, the OINP generally sets the upper limit for the CRS score.
However, candidates with experience in the other 35 to 37 occupations have voiced concerns about their exclusion from both OINP and federal Express Entry draws.
Those who receive an invitation now have 45 days to accept it and submit a complete application to be eligible for provincial nomination.
Receiving a provincial nomination allows invited candidates’ Express Entry profiles to gain an additional 600 points if they accept OINP invitations.
The CRS score for the invited profiles will be increased to a range of 1,005 to 1,035, guaranteeing their participation in future PNP or all-program Express Entry draws.
It’s important to note that the Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream draw does not require a separate OINP profile; instead, eligible profiles must align with one of the approved trade occupations for this draw.
The OINP routinely assesses the Express Entry pool managed by IRCC to identify profiles that may fit into one of Ontario’s Express Entry streams.
