On December 16, IRCC invited 1,085 candidates for permanent residency in the latest Express Entry draw, focusing on profiles under the Provincial Nominee Program. The CRS cutoff score was set at 727.
To be eligible for consideration in the latest Express Entry draw, candidates needed a minimum CRS score of 727.
This draw, held on December 16, is the third of the month. It follows a December 2 draw for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates and a December 3 category-based draw for individuals with French language skills.
In November, there were six Express Entry draws, resulting in 5,507 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residency.
The current pattern of alternating draws between the PNP, Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and French language proficiency categories appears to be continuing. This trend is expected to persist, especially with the introduction of the “In-Canada” focus category in the Immigration Levels Plan 2025-2027. This category will prioritize candidates from CEC and other regional programs, possibly including the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). In total, the “In-Canada” focus category is set to allocate 82,980 PR admissions in 2025, representing over 40% of the total admissions planned for that year.
